Large carved bird with fabulous detail the wings are on hinges so fold into the body or splay out they contain a meat carving set of knife and two pronged fork in the centre of the tail feathers is a bread knife and in the neck of the bird a cheese knife . The rest of the tail holds 6 x knifes and 6 x 2 pronged forks . All the blades are steel and the collars of the cutlery are all brass . The only damage appears to the base and could have been there originally as is stained the same colour and can not been seen when displayed.
I'm unsure of origin and age , The carved pattern in the feathers suggest its a peacock , which is significant in India but the head looks more like a Turkey . All I know is its over 2kg of craftsmanship and a real talking piece .
Dimensions 13'' height x 11'' length small knifes and forks 7'' length
base 2.5'' x 7.
